Message track prep goes a long way to help with traction, if you ever set foot on a properly prepped Drag strip you'll notice your shoes will stick to the rubber on the floor. I have 255 street tires and let the air out to 20psi, do a small burnout- it only let's go at the top of 1st and that's with the N/A 4.08. For driving on the street-if you don't care too much about tire wear, I run around on the street with ~30 psi it grips noticeably better than 36 psi. I also had my rear alignment set to the minimum camber within the factory specification. With these 2 things I never spin 2nd unless my gas tank is almost completely empty.

*disclaimer*: all that I say may be true or I may be completely wrong and I accept that.... please, it is your duty as another person on the internet to impolitely tell me how wrong I am :)
